Brent Brooks
Senior Pastor
Brent has served RCF as Senior Pastor since 2006.  Since his arrival in Reno he has also functioned as adjunct faculty in spiritual formation, pastoral leadership, homiletics, and hermeneutics for Multnomah University and Biblical Seminary, as a spiritual advisor to Acts4 (a citywide prayer ministry) and Awaken INC (a ministry focused on stopping sex trafficking), as a board member of Libertas (a ministry focused on protecting religious liberties), and as the founder and leader of OneCry Reno (a citywide movement for revival involving nearly 90 churches/ministries throughout our valley).  He also functions as the City Revival Coordinator and as a board member for the national OneCry movement.
Prior to his ministry in Reno Brent served for 22 years as the church planter and senior pastor of three churches in the greater Washington/Baltimore area.  In addition to his pastoral ministry, he has served as adjunct faculty in four seminaries, the leader of a church planting ministry, a church consultant, and a board member of numerous foreign and domestic mission agencies. In a former life, Brent was a confirmed atheist and had an employment history ranging from oil field laborer to practice as a civil trial attorney.
A key marker event in Brent’s life was total kidney failure in 1983 followed by a kidney transplant in 1984. From this he has learned much about the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. A graduate of both the University of Texas School of Law (J.D.) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. with high honors), he has done additional doctoral study in Spiritual Formation through Asbury Theological Seminary. Brent’s passion is drawing people closer and closer to Jesus Christ — both in drawing Christians into deeper spiritual formation and in leading seekers into a saving knowledge of Jesus.
Brent’s wife Jill is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas and attended the University of Texas School of Law.  Jill has served RCF in children’s, greeting, and women’s ministries. Their daughter Abby, their son-in-law David, and their grandsons Eli and Josiah currently live in Mexico City. The whole family loves travel, hiking, reading, music, and eating ethnic foods.

Marshall Drake
Pastor of Worship

Everyone worships. Sometimes we worship people or things or ambitions and desires. But when we worship God, we fulfill His purpose for our lives…

Marshall joined the RCF staff as Pastor of Worship in June 2009. Marshall grew up in a musical family where he learned to worship at an early age. His brother gave him his first hand-me-down 6-string when he was 11 and has been playing ever since. Marshall loves everything from Bach to rock! He started leading worship for his peers in junior high and took his first unpaid job as a worship leader in 1985. Since then Marshall has been a worship pastor at four different churches.

Marshall studied speech communications at Biola University and church growth at Fuller Seminary. Marshall and his wife, Kelly joined the staff at Church Resource Ministries in 1985 as home missionaries. They were heavily involved in church planting for 10 years. They transitioned from para-church ministry to full-time pastoral ministry in 1997. Marshall grew up a military brat and a missionary kid. So mix it all together and you get a guy who loves Jesus, loves the church and wants to help others grow in relationship to the Lord.

Marshall and his wife Kelly were married in 1983 and they have three grown children, Jonathan, Michael, and Lauren. Marshall and Kelly have lived on both the east and west coast and they can honestly say – they love Reno!

Ryan Morrison
Pastor of Children

Ryan joined the RCF team as Pastor of Children in 2013. Ryan grew up as a pastor’s kid “around” Minneapolis, MN and at a young age, knew that his life would be dedicated to growing the Kingdom of God.

After high school he spent time with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Holland and India. He then studied Theology and Intercultural Studies at Bethany College of Missions in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also has a B.S. in Christian Ministry from Crown College. Ryan and Brianna met and married in 2005.

Ryan has a clear calling to minister to families and children.  Much of this was birthed out of their own difficult experience in losing 5 out of 6 sextuplets over a six week period following an extremely premature delivery.  Their surviving child, Sylas, is bright, articulate, and basically awesome, but faces some physical developmental challenges with cerebral palsy. Since then their family has grown; in 2009 Ivy was born and August came in 2011.

Ryan’s #1 calling is to fully realize his position as a child of God and to gently lead his family to do the same. His desire is to partner with parents to raise a generation that loves God more than anything else.

Ryan’s loves making up new words with his wife (like “cozification”), photography, playing piano, hiking and tickling his kids until they are inches from wetting their pants.
